Our Story
Sacred Heart School Sandringham is a thriving Catholic primary school offering evidence-based learning, modern facilities, and a strong sense of community just moments from the bay.
In 2025, we unveiled a stunning $5.2 million refurbishment across all learning and administration areas. Our upgraded facilities included 13 spacious, light-filled classrooms, breakout rooms, a purpose-built STEM centre, MSL intervention rooms, a vibrant arts studio, expansive outdoor play spaces, a multipurpose hall, and a suite of meeting rooms to support collaborative learning and community engagement.
Sacred Heart offers a wide range of programs designed to enrich student life, including Before & After School Care, Calm Club, running club, art and gardening clubs for Years 3–6, and optional instrumental music lessons.
We deliver a comprehensive curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, incorporating a strong Structured Literacy approach from Prep to Year 6. Our teaching is grounded in explicit teaching and evidence-based practices including MSL, Heggerty, Spelling Mastery, and The Writing Revolution (TWR). Core subjects are complemented by Italian, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Music, and targeted wellbeing programs, including the evidence-based Berry Street Education Model and Respectful Relationships.

Our school’s Catholic identity is central to everything we do. We are committed to living out gospel values such as love, honesty, justice, and compassion. Students benefit from rich experiences including interschool sport, a Year 6 leadership program, a dedicated secondary school transition process, and weekly community partnerships with local kindergartens and Fernhill aged care through our intergenerational program.
Since 2022, Sacred Heart has experienced exciting and considerable growth. With the adoption of evidence-based teaching practices, increasing enrolment demand, a strong reputation in the community, and the completion of a landmark building project, we are confidently shaping the future of learning in Sandringham and become a school of choice for families in the bayside.
