In determining the priorities for student wellbeing at Sacred Heart School, staff, parents, and students agree that we are committed to:
- Welcoming all members of our school community
- Recognising the uniqueness and dignity of each person
- Supporting parents in their role as the first educators of their children
- Providing a supportive, caring, and safe environment for all members of our school community
Respectful Relationships
As a leading school for the Department of Education’s Respectful Relationships program, we recognise that our school is more than just a place for young people to learn; it is a place where all students and staff deserve to feel respected, safe, and valued.
The Respectful Relationships program supports schools and early childhood settings to promote and model respect, positive attitudes, and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience, and confidence. It is all about embedding a culture of respect and equality across the entire school community. Berry Street Education Model
At Sacred Heart, we are proud to implement the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) a practical, evidence-based approach to teaching and learning that supports student wellbeing, engagement, and academic achievement. BSEM is designed to help teachers meet the needs of all learners, particularly those with complex or unmet learning needs. It promotes self-regulation, resilience, and positive relationships in the classroom, creating safe and supportive learning environments where every student can thrive. Working together, the model helps us build predictability and consistency across all classrooms, supporting every student to feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.
